Because our Italian foods are usually packaged and labeled in Italy for international sale, they often use European or Italian terms for ingredients. The word “aroma” on truffle oil, lemon-pepper wheat germ pasta and other Italian products’ ingredient lists is the equivalent of “flavor” on American-style ingredient lists. It’s simply their term for the essence of an ingredient. Thus, when you see “truffle aroma”…just think “truffle flavor.” Post your comment here: |
