Fresh mushrooms should be stored in your refrigerator until you’re ready to use them. Several methods exist for storing mushrooms within the fridge, but here’s what we recommend:
- Keep mushrooms whole for best shelf life - sliced or chopped mushrooms won’t last nearly as long.
- Fresh mushrooms are delicate, do not store anything on top of them or keep them in a drawer where other food can bump them.
- Wrap them in a paper bag or paper towels to keep them from absorbing too much moisture.
- We recommend eating mushrooms as soon as possible, the fresher they are the better! However they can last longer than a week in your fridge, depending on how humid it is inside.
