I want to cook frozen mussels…when should I take them out of the freezer?

We can’t really predict how long it will take your mussels to thaw. That’s dependent on the quantity, how they’re packaged, your thawing method, etc. If you’re using a commercially frozen product, check the packaging or try contacting the manufacturer to see if they can offer thawing tips & time estimates.

I’d probably recommend moving them from the freezer to your refrigerator about 24 hours ahead so they can slow-thaw. Check them a little before you plan on cooking them, and if they’re still partially frozen, use the sink thawing method to thaw them the rest of the way.
