Q.

How much does 100 tbsp of finely chopped cilantro leaves weigh?

Trackback |
A.

According to The Book of Yields, each tablespoon of chopped fresh cilantro weighs approximately .093 ounces.  Thus, 100 tablespoons would weigh 9.3 ounces.

Some important caveats about this estimate:

1) The Book of Yields attempts to estimate averages, it isn’t describing our products specifically.

2) the “chopped leaves” they used for this estimate were “cut chiffonade, then cross-cut and chopped a bit more” then “tapped down [in the spoon] but not pressed down hard”.  Volume measurements for pack-able ingredients are inherently imprecise, as one cook may pack more than others, so your weight per spoon may vary.
